As a manner of introduction, am an architect, atheist and a seeker of knowledge and a firm believer in man. I am convinced that the highest form of belief is for man to believe in himself, his abilities and what he is capable of achieving given the right stimuli. I hope I will be able to demonstrate that belief in God[s] might actually be morally wrong.’… it’s wrong in the sense that belief in God expresses a rejection, or denial, or perhaps subjugation of one’s humanity. It involves turning one’s back on the human will to overcome challenges, to create and instead makes servility to authority the ultimate aim of human life. It projects onto an unapproachable and incomprehensible other all that is good and magnificent in human experience and achievement.'[Joseph Levine, From Yeshiva Bochur to Secular Humanist, pg 46 in Philosophers Without Gods by Antony, Louise M.]
I didn’t do well in writing classes, so in the beginning you will excuse the brevity of my rants, but i hope that they will make sense.
This blog will cover several issues, religion among them, politics, architecture and art, urban and human settlements among other things. I intend it to be interactive, informative and a pleasant diversion from your daily activities.
I hope to engage with you, yes you, to the end. I will learn from you and you will learn from me. I intend to share with you my observations, experiences, thoughts, likes and results of time spent in study.
I promise it will be fun.
