On communion

Hey friends, in the past, I have written generally on religion. This video is about the eucharist in the Catholic Church and a few pentecostal churches and generally about belief, about god and critical thinking.

If you believe that during mass, the eucharist becomes bread and blood of Jesus, then you are easily a cannibal! That aside, how does this transformation take place? What are the various stages involved? Can I take any wine as the blood of Jesus or is there a particular type that Jesus preferred and how was this decision reached? Before we get there though, in the NT passage where they have the passover meal, Jesus is yet to be crucified. In ‘Luke 22 19 Then he took a piece of bread, gave thanks to God, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in memory of me.” Why would Jesus want people to eat his body? Is it possible that we could take a piece of bread and make my body? Just asking

  1. goldheathen says:

Yet another messed up doctrine from the people who brought you the remission of “sin” through vicarious human sacrifice and the not in any way contradictory notions of boundless and unconditional love and fiery and eternal damnation. Good post. Thanks.

  2. Now I am wondering. What wine would Jesus prefer? Was there a particular, favourite Jewish wine at the time?
