When we last at covenants, god had made them with Abe and just confirmed to Jake that he is sticking to the old covenant. It appears from the look of things we are back at it.
Since we have dealt with discrimination against women already, there is no point to say more. But we can point it out here, among the elders there are no women. Either all the women are too young to be elders or the old women have died or there are simply no women to be elders, your take.
24 Then He said to Moses, “Come up to the Lord, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu and seventy of the elders of Israel, and you shall worship at a distance. 2 Moses alone, however, shall come near to the Lord, but they shall not come near, nor shall the people come up with him.”
If the lawd was so close, why not just talk with everyone at once? It appears everyone is within hearing range of god besides, is he not omnipresent or does this happen before he becomes omni? And while we are at it, what language did god use to communicate with Moses since in future Mohammed will claim god uses Arabic as lingua franca?
3 Then Moses came and recounted to the people all the words of the Lord and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words which the Lord has spoken we will do!” 4 Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord.
For the life of me, I can’t wait for someone to sprinkle blood on me. What with the smell, flies and so on. Never never
8 So Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”
In an earlier chapter the sons of Israel were threatened with death if they touched the mountain of god. Now they have seen god and I see no record of deaths or does it refer to future dying, then it is useless as a threat?
11 Yet He did not stretch out His hand against the nobles of the sons of Israel; and they saw God, and they ate and drank.
Seriously, just stone parchment? I mean why couldn’t god just see into the 21st century and give the laws in USB drive so they can easily be shared across since I don’t think he is concerned with copyright laws. Even papyrus would have done better but on other news, what is the language of god and does he have a specific handwriting?
12 Now the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and remain there, and I will give you the stone tablets with the law and the commandment which I have written for their instruction.”
Someone please tell me how many days and nights was Jesus tempted and did he end up on a mountain? Does he appear transformed to shock those who was with him shitless? Just asking
17 And to the eyes of the sons of Israel the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the mountain top. 18 Moses entered the midst of the cloud as he went up to the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
