You know something is fishy

When the leader of the world’s billion plus Catholics gives a notice to quit his job when all these billion+ cathos are praying for his good health and the good of the church. Ratzinger’s abdication has provided me with some comic relief from my busy schedule of work and reading and it is getting more interesting by the day. I think by the time he finally quits and a new pontiff is elected, we really will be a happier lot.

We knew something had to be up with the resignation of Pope Benedict. After all, Popes don’t just resign; in fact, this is the first time a Pope has resigned in 600 years. Therefore, the hoopla surrounding this is more than understandable. However, as per usual with the Catholic Church, there seems to be a catch, and, lo and behold, it likely surrounds the infamous abuse scandals that have plagued the church’s image for so long.

  2. When he is no longer the ruler of a sovereign state, can we hang him? No, seriously, I want to know. After the documentary is released, and people want to hang him… can we just go get him like Bin Laden?

I think that is why he seeking the protection of the president of Italy but it would be a spectacle to see him stand trial even if just for the entertainment value since he could like quit life before the trials get any serious.

      • It would do my heart good to see the man with the dress and funny hat to be behind bars. His god might have to forgive, I don’t and neither does any of the the victims of the RCC. That would set a precedent: clerics, be good or you will be punished here in this life.

Question: why on earth hasn’t Interpol raided the Vatican and seized the abuse files which the Vatican has admitted it has???

Maybe they still have their secrets act caps on the files and maybe it is protected by some international treaty, you know how crafty this organisation, RCC, can be?

I would like nothing else but to see this corrupt organization brought to its knees. It worries me though that when they’re gone, where do the people turn to. I would hope that they would reflect critically on what religion has done for them but more likely they will look to the familiar for comfort and entrench themselves even deeper. There are worse organizations than the Catholic church.

My adorable late granny said “Fish starts to stink from their heads.”
Looking to the pope’s fish-head tiara (better seen from side), one can better understand why:-)

I doubt that the scales will be falling off the eyes any time soon.
But it would be nice to see the fish squirm on the hook.
