Every religion is an absurdity

Religion unites man with God or puts them in communication; but do you say that God is infinite? If God is infinite, no finite being can have communication or any relation with Him. Where there are no relations, there can be no union, no correspondence, no duties. If there are no duties between man and his God, there exists no religion for man. Thus by saying that God is infinite, you annihilate, from that moment, all religion for man, who is a finite being. The idea of infinity is for us in idea without model, without prototype, without object.

Basically beyond our comprehension (if he/she exists).

This implies deism, which I’m fine with if someone wants to believe that. For me I don’t see any evidence for it, but a non-concerned, non-caring, utterly non-interested ‘creator’ makes a hell of a lot more sense than some nosy sky daddy who doesn’t think twice about committing genocide.

I am not sure the argument stands. Do we need to be equal or the same to have communications? I don’t think so. A point on infinity is still a contact. Just saying.
That said, yeah, infinity is a foreign concept for finite being.

  4. Daniela says:

If a human being believes in God than the same human being also believes in continuations of life after physical death, which makes such human being infinite and thus in communication and relation with his/her infinite God. It is the very essence, the very underpinning of every religion,

Dearest, do you think these believers think themselves infinite before they were born or else the idea becomes muddled with incredulity?

The question requires time to answer properly … and alas I am about to embark on my daily grind -:)! No child of man is born believer or non-believer despite the fact that there are religions which teach that every one of us was born as already member of that order … the fact however is that system of believes (religious or otherwise) is learned the same way all other aspects of our existence are learned … throughout that process and with passing of time one adopts, changes, swaps, or not as the case may be sets of believes … so one becomes Marxist, or Muslim, or Calvinist, or Atheists … but all of those ‘titles’ are limited and, in my view, they all pale when compared with simple humanity!

Wishing you great day … or evening in your part of this wonderful world!

It’s evening in this part of the globe and have a great day my friend. Dearest I think men are born sans belief but I agree we learn these things from a young age when we are most impressionable especially religious belief.
There is nothing that compares to our shared humanity. All the other labels only work to divide us and I will gladly drop the Atheist tag if my believer friend stops telling me their god has a plan for me or for all of us 🙂
