To the choir obviously the answer to this question is a resounding no. To most others though faced with this question they are ready to concede that Islam has its origins in the light of day and so is likely true. The stories of Mohammed and his exploits seem so real to most people such that to even begin to show them it is as much a legend, and bad one at that, like other religious personages in history is a Herculean task. This belief is not based on fact rather it is one that has been properly built and passed on over time that it is likely considered true. At some time last year I wrote an article about Islam and its association with violence which in my opinion is supported by either the Koran or Hadiths that it is hard to separate Islam from violence even if you try so hard.
Many muslims are wont to say that Atheists fear to critique Islam. For one, muslims behave like cry babies albeit with guns so that when it is challenged they are up in arms defending the prophet god. One is left to wonder if their god is so powerless that it requires minions to fight for it all the time. It is appalling that they find no qualms killing people who disagree with their ignorance. They threaten anyone who dares leave the religion with death so much such that those Atheists in muslim countries live in fear for their lives and when they are able to write about it, they use several pseudonyms just so that family, friends and the community at large does not get to know.
There is no evidence for the Abrahamic god, the one muslims worship and so there is no way Mohammed or whoever the prophet was could have received a message from god. We have no evidence of ghosts, holy or otherwise and angels fallen or not so too none appeared to Mohammed. That aside however, Islam is as much a plagiarism of early Judaism, Christianity and Zoroaster beliefs that it is indeed funny to hear a muslim talk of purity of their cult.
There is an interesting book[ In the Shadow of the Sword] that took historian Tom Holland five years to compile on the history of Islam that is both informative and interesting and should be read first by all Muslims who care to think beyond what their imams tell them and then by everyone interested in religion.
The common heritage that all the Middle Eastern belief systems share makes the basis of their veracity questionable. Historically, all of them emerged from each other. The only difference being the newer faith du jure claimed it was “purifying” the one before it. All were steeped in death and violence. Each is as bloodthirsty as its counterparts. Great post, my blogging brother!

I agree with you wholly. They are all related and as you say it so well, each was trying to purify the mistakes it saw in the preceding religion.
And thanks always for your kind words.

The general feeling (not sure if its a consensus or not) is that Mo was a temporal lobe epileptic. Yes, he did live, but Yahwehism 3.0 is just another crock of nonsense.
I do wish more Mulsims would jump in on these blogs. Debating these dickheads is fun.

Oh my friend, Mo’s first biography is written 200 years after he is supposed to have lived. The Koran mentions the name Mo I think for times and only once as a proper name. In the other instances[I will take time and get you the Surras] it is a title so it could have referred to anyone but the most likely candidate is Jeebus.
Two the Hadiths which are like a manual for reading the Koran which also gives a lot of the Mo bio is unreliable as historical documents. When looked at with a toothcomb, their foundation is not shaky as sand but is a airy nothing. A guy named Mo could have existed just like there have been several Jeebus, but the story of the prophet is legend all the way down. At least so far as I can tell.
There is a German Islamic scholar[I will have to get you the link] who has come to a similar conclusion on Mo’s life and with continuing study, there is much more that will be known about the bogus history of Islam and Mo.

I didn’t know that. In all honestly i really don’t know much about the Koran. Just another silly sand manual as far as I’m concerned 🙂

I don’t know the Koran well enough to criticize it the way I do the Christian bible but there are basics of Islam that make it untrue in all the ways that they make Christianity untrue. When YHWH is debunked, islam is left as so much hot air. It is not a religion of peace rather it is a religion of fear: fear of apostacy, fear of women’s sexuality, fear of equality, fear… well, you get the point. Every last criticism of YHWH _is_ a criticism of Islam.

On that you are correct. Every proof against the non existence of gods makes revelation null and effectively every religion based on revelation is proven false.

Good point, this is the best part to me: “One is left to wonder if their god is so powerless that it requires minions to fight for it all the time.”

Christians do that too though, except this week is Islam week.
Am allowing Christians to celebrate the suicide by centurion of their supposed savior 😀

But Islam encourages violence, Christianity doesn’t.

I mean those don’t care about their religion, some of them claim that are Christians, but they don’t act that way.
