No, I don’t want to kill myself


I like to meditate about death, I like to think how I will die and I really would want to pass to the nether world peacefully and painlessly. There are my friends who fear the mention of death. To them I can’t help them.

To those of us who accept that death as negation of life is slowly approaching, I stumbled upon a beautiful piece on death that I thought I would share with all of you. It is suited for those of us with no belief in the afterlife and see death just as what happened to us before we were born, we cease to exist.

I hope you like it and find it uplifting.

  3. Death. The label for the transition, mixing back into the universe where we were taken from. As the ash layer of a burnt forest, the foundation from which other life will spring, supporting other life, supporting other life, supporting yet other life. A time when the echos of our thoughts and endeavors might reverberate for a time before being drown out by the sounds of children laughing, lions roaring, waves crashing. As night falls on that day when tomorrow becomes louder than yesterday, someone will stare into the night sky and conclude that all is right with the world. And this … this inevitable thing, is exactly as it should be.

      I can’t agree more. I think death is a beautiful thing. And I think Steve Jobs said it best when he said

      Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure – these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.
