Some news from the neck of woods

Folks, whenever I write about my neck of the woods, am complaining about some church minister or the idiots sorry meant the politicians who hold the rest of us hostage so today I thought I could share about something where we lead the world or at least the world should learn from us.

Our cooperative[SACCO] movement has helped to alleviate several thousand out of poverty.

The next innovation where we have led is mobile money transfer. Mobile phones here basically are small mobile banks.

It’s goo in many ways that you skipped all the crap and launched right into the mobile. Not as much redundant infrastructure to dig up.

Did you see the people of Brazil have had enough? A revolution started here last night, and i don’t think is going to stop.

I have seen the news on twitter[well all my news is online] and am wondering what did Dilma do to piss them off so badly?

Dilma is an idiot, but it’s not just her. Federal and state politics is rotten to its core. Dilma hasn’t said anything, which has enraged people even more. We have our protest planned here for Thursday. Ours is a little city, not very important, but I’m definitely going.

Well me and you know saying a politician is an idiot is repeating oneself :-P. A political system need to be developed such that we don’t have these idiots staying longer in power. And am hoping our good friend Mordanicus will propose some good ideas then we only need a meme to start and spread

Democracy doesn’t work in Brazil. The illiterate northeast wins national elections, so all politicians have to do is promise free handouts.

Am looking for a place where democracy works! It is one lobby group after another and the guy with the most money carries the day whether this is an idiot or not and for our case a guy with court cases and integrity issues to handle! I just don’t like the political class as a whole

Agreed. It works in Australia, but in Australia both major parties are centrists… No extremes.

Democracy works really well in America, and when it works for the good it’s freaking awesome. We’ve had some really great victories lately, hopefully the insanity in Virginia will fall. But sadly, Democracy has its downside. You get dipshits in power because we put them there-democratically. Yes, the irony is not lost on us.
Our voting public is our biggest problem, not our system. If we’d read up once in a while, learn the issues, get involved, we’d clean up local and state seats better, so federal would just follow.
