For the love of America

this is batshit crazy.

How do you manage to have a justice of the Supreme Court who believes the devil is actively

getting people not to believe in him or in God. He’s much more successful that way.

and then continues to say

Most of mankind has believed in the Devil, for all of history. Many more intelligent people than you or me have believed in the Devil.

Nuff said!

Scalia believes in the Devil and ‘very much suspects’ some friends of his are homosexual –

That was a very hard article to read. The man should be de-barred immediately on psychological grounds. He is evidently not mentally fit to serve.

My Nairobi brother, Scalia has long been a complete embarrassment to this country and to jurists in general. My only consolation is that soon he will have to be replaced. How did he attain this distinction? We need look no further than the idiot (president) who nominated him. Like begets like.

Astute judgment on one who judges everyone and all yet fails to recognize his own incompetence. Be safe, my friend! Love you, man!

Sorry, I neglected to name the president responsible for his appointment. It was Ronald Reagan. No more needs to be offered on THAT subject.

I knew that was Justice Scalia before I got here. Sometimes I think they’d be better off being led by blind men instead of mad men. Being blind doesn’t make you ignorant, but ignorance does make you blind, and dangerous when you have the power to spread it around.

  6. Scalia is a scared old man who wants to pretend that he knows more than anyone else and that he’ll get a magic prize for believing the “right” way. .

Like lexborgia, I knew it was Scalia before I got to the bottom where you name him. He’s been crazy for a long time. That he’s a Supreme Court Justice is just plain scary. Search for “Scalia ethics” and you will find that this devout Christian is oddly morally challenged.

And you can find many more posts and articles like that.

I entirely agree with aguywithoutboxers. He’s an embarassment. However, since Supreme Court Justices serve for life, there’s nothing we can do about it unless he goes further in his ethical lapses.

I think we’re having real trouble in this country. At the moment I have no clue how it’s going to end and little optimism for the short term.

It will take a long and hard look to solve the problems. It will require courage to tell the religious bigots they can’t hold anyone hostage and will require massive losses in elections for the republican party for them to realize to move forward as a country, there is need to do so together

It’s been said that the North won the Civil War but we bungled Reconstruction. There was a desire to heal the country and return to normal and Reconstruction was left unfinished, which is how we wound up with decades of segregation following the end of slavery. (This isn’t my area of expertise, so if I’m inaccurrate about this, I appologize. I know more about early colonization through the Revolution and not much about the Civil War.) People are throwing scary words around these days. The Republicans refusing to fund the government has been described as a coup d’etat.

Scalia is something else altogether. He’s a Catholic true believer – and I think maybe crazy. There were two little old ladies who used to live in my building. The appeared to be twins, or at least sisters close in age. They were extremely short, about four feet tall, and wore long skirts, scarves on their head and were old enough that I couldn’t guess their age. I want to say ninety, but the ninety-five year old woman across the hall from me looks better, so I don’t know. Anyway, they used to stand outside of Grand Central Station in New York handing out pamphlets about how the Virgin Mary appeared in Queens (a borough of New York City) and told women to dress modestly and cover their heads. Scalia reminds me of those strange fundamentalist Catholics.

Scalia seems to me a strange fellow and I think as he grows old, he will most likely go downhill!
And those ladies that you write about were strange too.
