Is there a god?

Well my answer to the question is twofold. Yes- as an idea in the mind of the believer. No in the way we could talk about a tree or a rock in our immediate view.

Enquiries on Atheism

This is one question I know will be asked several times and in many instances is difficult to give one answer for. In order to answer it though, it would be fair enough for the person asking to define what they mean by god. It is always assumed that when people say god we know what they mean but this isn’t the case.

With that in mind, we shall attempt to answer these questions we have been asked

  1. How do you know for certain God is not real?
  2. Do you have any proof or is this remark your humble opinion?
  3. Would also like to know how the universe was created/ If you do not know for certain how it was created, then how do you know for certain there is no god?

  1. Mak – here’s something you and your readers might appreciate, and in fact, you, an intelligent, educated man, living on the most religious continent in the world, may wish to use the information found here to establish a whole new topic, and offer, from your special position, your own unique perspective.

    Why Atheism Will Replace Religion

Atheists are more likely to be college-educated people who live in cities and they are highly concentrated in the social democracies of Europe. Atheism thus blossoms amid affluence where most people feel economically secure. But why?

It seems that people turn to religion as a salve for the difficulties and uncertainties of their lives. In social democracies, there is less fear and uncertainty about the future because social welfare programs provide a safety net and better health care means that fewer people can expect to die young. People who are less vulnerable to the hostile forces of nature feel more in control of their lives and less in need of religion.

  2. Side-note to Ark (I don’t know how else to reach you – sorry, Mak):

I stopped following Chialphagirl’s blog this morning, after learning she banned you and established more commandments than her god did – just can’t work under that many rules, when I have none on my own site – her message is clear, “If you don’t agree with everything I say, got out!” I did.

You may have not exactly been Mr. Congeniality, but her reaction was uncalled for.

Funny thing, she rarely ever responds to any of my questions anywhere either on her blog or elsewhere.

There seem to be a host of people that the ark gets to their nerves though I thought they got on well with chialpharirl.

Haven’t you yet learned that that’s typical of theists? When you HAVE no answer, say nothing and maybe they’ll go away —
