Euthanesia

We think talking about what god is, whether there are any gods and if they care about us, though sometimes interesting, there is nothing new we will say that will bring any gods to life.

We are going to look for data and debates on euthanasia. This will be our next topic of discussion.

To move the debate forward, I will declare where I stand on this debate. I support the procedure and look to a time when this will be available to everyone who requires such help.

We will try our best to look for interesting posts on this topic.

BTW, I’ve sent a young, Christian, Nigerian girl over here to meet you, I’m in the process of educating her about the Bible and where it comes from. She’s a real sweetheart, so be your usual gracious self with her. Her name is Ujuh, and she has eyes that’ll knock your socks off!

I gave her your general https://maasaiboys.wordpress.com, so it’s hard to say which topic, if any, she’ll show up on.

Interesting… all I can think at this moment is, why is it that we can see the suffering of animals and deem to put them down to end suffereing, but cannot see the same for ourselves? Too many people are hung up on the notion that we aren’t animals. We have 2 eyes, 2 ears, 4 appendages, we eat, sleep, procreate, shit, and pass gas just like most of the rest of the animal kingdom, but oh no! We ain’t no stinking animals!

As far as I can gather, it’s science, but done the right way. So right that they finished the job a few hundred years ago and haven’t contributed shit since.

Actually, the Muslim world kept Man’s knowledge alive during the thousand years that Christianity threw Europe into the Dark Ages, otherwise we’d all be back throwing rocks at each other (which actually might have been better than SCUD missles). We don’t owe squat to Islam, but we owe a great deal to the Muslims that preserved knowledge.

BTW – for those who are watching his revived COSMOS series, the final episode of which goes on the air next week, let me advise you that the entire series has been put on DVD, and the package goes on sale June 10th. And no, I don’t get a cut for advertising it —

Is it right to call it the Muslim world or the Arab world? Some of the scientists I think were not Muslim by any chance. Am thinking a guy like Al Razi was not religious. I think it is this fact that the people who helped keep the light of science burning in the falsafa schools and so on may not necessarily have been Muslim but were in Muslim dominated areas. Maybe am wrong, but that is my two cents on the matter.

It’s not a clear line to draw, Mak – I’ve had Iranian friends and Iraqi friends, and Iranians, though Muslim, will be quick to tell you that they are definitely not Arab – they’re from Indo-European stock.
