The essence- simply the best

Sonmi has a post with the same title and asks a very difficult question. The question/ request is

So, show me that which, in your opinion, (not that of others – in as much as not the most popular necessarily), is your pièce de résistance to date.

and yours truly has really thought about this request long and hard.

You see I write on many things. I post on religion, photography, books, music and movies and usually just anything that crosses my mind. Most of the posts take me between half an hour to 1 hour to write. I don’t have any draft files stored in notebooks or in a folder in this machine, I think on my feet half the time and the other half in my dreams.

I blog quite regularly. No am not lonely, but I like the group of friends that I have made on the blogworld. Many of them are wonderful people. I don’t make money from blogging but if you want to send offerings my way, just let me know :-P, I don’t think there would be anything wrong with making money off something I enjoy doing.

I would submit my confessions not as my best post but that post that aside from my about tells you about me. You see, I think therefore I am, as Rene did write eons ago. So this blog is about me. It details my travels, my likes and dislikes, my position on different issues, my reading list, my photos and so on. My confessions in a way mentions all these in passing and if the reader is lucky to get to it, they begin to see where I have come from, not necessarily where I am at.

And while answering the challenge I read Doob’s the art of blogging where I got a little inspiration for this post.

I read many blogs daily but some or most I hardly ever get to read the about page. There are a few I follow that once in a while I go back to check the about page just to see if there is anything I missed.

I love blogging and more so, I like the community of friends we meet a long the way.

    What Tish said!
If I win lottery or sell enough books I would love to do a world tour. And what better way to do this than via all the bog-pals around the world?
Imagine the itinerary! It would be an absolute blast.
As we are neighbours I am pretty sure you would be the first stop on the list!

My Nairobi brother, your response above is just one (or rather, a few) of the many reasons I enjoy your blog AND our friendship! I could not have written it any better myself! Much love and many naked hugs, my friend! 😉

I have some extra drafts in my dashboard and I would be glad to give them to you so you won’t have to spend half hour to an hour on thinking something up. 🙂

I couldn’t agree more Mak. It is an odd relationship I suppose, if you look at how internet relationships go, but I consider you, and many who comment here friends.

…that goes for most of the commenters. Like minds tend to attract a kinship, regardless of if we have ever met face to face, or even talk regularly. I always enjoy the comments here. (excluding the obvious trolls that drive through) and I consider you friends whether you know it or not.

I keep thinking a bunch of us should set up a Skype meet and have a beer. Anyone interested? I have no idea of Skype limitations, but what the hell? It’s worth a shot. I don’t care if any of ya’s see my ugly mug.

Mak, you are sort of a “new” friend to me as I only recently started following your blog. But, like you, I agree there seems to be kinship among bloggers (at least those with similar interests) that brings us closer together even though we may be continents apart. I’m glad I “found” you. 😉
