I totally agree. Good and bad are human creations and subject to interpretation by humans. Except for the fact that Allah is the only God and christians will burn in hell for their false beliefs. Everything else is subjective. $Amen$

That is an objective truth. Christians should prepare to get burned for forever plus 1

I hope you didn’t know anyone in that university attack, not that that would diminish the horrendous nature of what happened.

I feel for you. There is no reasoning with such people. There is nothing to be done with them except accelerate their departure from the surface of this planet.

Reminds me of a quote I heard, “There’s no right or wrong BUT right is right and wrong is wrong.” lol So funny. Try to tell someone who’s in the drama and belief something is not good or bad and good luck with that. I think all humans are inherent creatures of judgement – seems to be in our conditioning. I love it when someone says, “I’m not judging but…” Anyway, stopped by to give you a big cyber hug. 😉

Absolutely true, my Nairobi brother! More likely than not, a judgment made by someone who’s not qualified to give it!

Heard the news from over there; terrible.
Judgment is a necessary/inevitable function of mind; unfortunately, it is largely (wholly?) socially determined. If one gets in with the wrong crowd, one loses the ability to discern important differences, especially regarding the values of others. (The ‘wrong’ crowd being the one least productive of a relatively well-ordered and reasonably secure living in peace with others.)

Terrible, yes, very.
Oh yes, judgement is socially determined

I entirely agree with you. I gave up on the notion of morality about a decade ago. The funny thing is nothing really changes much. We call things moral that are socially functional. I don’t really have much of a desire to do hurtful things to people, unless I’m angry, in which case I usually yell or make vulgar gestures. Which might be bad, but it makes me feel good. 🙂

Yes I love this argument, there are no inherently good or bad actions, rape and murder are just a matter of personal judgment – it’s all how you perceive things. So deep..

David, is it murder when a guy is killed in a road accident? Do you have any issues with capital punishment?
Indulge, isn’t the word rape already a judgement?
What’s your point anyway?
