If there were a “god” deliberately taking life on a whim, then surely it is an “evil” god because it has not yet taken Craig’s. Craig is a man of sick, corrupt intellect, and deep, dark, disgusting morals.

WLC is the usual sycophant apologizing for a tyrant. it’s okay to murder anyone as long as you can claim that the tyrant approves. It is more moral to obey blindly rather than question the slaughter of people. WLC uses all of the usual attempts to claim that the “other” is evil, is debauched, etc to make it seem moral to dispose of such a people. It’s the same tactic used by anyone who wants control and to take the possessions of others. Any murderous regime on earth has done exactly as WLC says is okay. It’s okay to murder people because its better for them. Indeed, if this is the case then the anti-abortion people here in the US should be encouraging abortion if this is true: “Moreover, if we believe, as I do, that God’s grace is extended to those who die in infancy or as small children, the death of these children was actually their salvation. We are so wedded to an earthly, naturalistic perspective that we forget that those who die are happy to quit this earth for heaven’s incomparable joy. Therefore, God does these children no wrong in taking their lives.” Which is amusing since WLC insists that it isn’t God taking lives, it’s just the Israelite soldiers earlier in his nonsense that is on his website (google “craig justified death children” to find his very own site with all of this. I won’t post the link because the man doesn’t deserve any more clicks than necessary)
Unsuprisingly, WLC is for jihad and the death of unbelievers. He agrees with Islam and its radicals, but as he says, the problem is that they just have the wrong god “The problem with Islam, then, is not that it has got the wrong moral theory; it’s that it has got the wrong God.” And this, gentle reader, is why religion must be countered. No matter the claims of peace, there is always the threat of the sword.

Craig’s subterfuge is indefensible, but I submit we’re all guilty of finding reasons to justify human and non-human suffering. (How many shed tears when Osama bin Laden died? or when they eat factory-farmed meat? or when they take out an ant hill or wasp nest in their backyard?)

You know, John, I didn’t start studying the OT and Revelations for years after I became a devoted Christian. I was told by pastors to primarily stick with the Gospels and Epistles. Now I know why. They have a strategy: Get you thoroughly brainwashed and then you will be more willing to accept the psychopathic behavior of Yahweh and his ass-kissing ilk, which includes Jesus. They teach you that mature Christians will see the wisdom in Yahweh — that the Holy Spirit will illuminate you.
Once I started reading those stories, I was shocked out of my religious stupor. That anyone would try to defend this behavior. and continue to worship such a tyrant says a lot about the person’s state of mind.

In my Catholic upbringing, we were never encouraged to read the Bible. They wanted us to stick with the Catechism.

I was brought up Catholic, and you are exactly right. It wasn’t until I became a Protestant in my late 20’s that I started reading the Bible, and it would be years after that before I studied the OT. So I thought I needed to study the original Hebrew because surely the translation was not correct.
So I did. I thought, holy shit, this is Jesus’ daddy and he’s wanting us to worship that bastard? I think not. Then I started studying Revelations, where Jesus acts just like his blood-thirsty psychopathic father, and the rest, as they say, is history.

This is fair, plus he is intellectually dishonest, so all efforts are ultimately futile. He is shown to be wrong on Point A and yet he will repeat Point A, even elaborating on it. The man is clinically insane.

It seems Craig try’s to soften the blow by suggesting that young Children who die go straight to heaven. But that is theologically questionable. In any case it raises two obvious issues:
1) what is the cut-off age; and
2) if children who are killed get a free pass to heaven, then why would Christians oppose abortion?

Heaven must REALLY suck! It’s filled with zygotes, fetuses, infants, and toddlers. Don’t think I’d wanna hang around up there. Wadda say to a 5 week old, dead fetus? “Hey, did anyone ever tell you you look like a squeezed zit?” I think I’d rather go to hell with the drunks, sinners, and adults.

Well, they’re dead. So, I’d think growing is kinda outta the question. I wonder, does a 2 week old, dead fetus floating around the clouds of heaven have free will? If so, what does it do with it, order pizzas? Also, does good ole Yahweh hang around with all the fetuses and children he killed? Does he say to them, “Come, little ones, gather around and let me tell you how my slaughter of you was for your own good and for the good of all mankind.”
