You remember sometime back I had a post about the registrar of societies declining to register atheists. I think the moral hurdle has been overcome and we are no longer a threat to morals or national cohesion.
If this accurate, then I think it is proper to say the registrar had earlier been ill advised

I’m not sure if this is evidence of evolution from religious fanatics, but it sounds like good news.
Back in my early assertive atheist years (yes, I did formerly self-identify as such), some Christians reacted fearfully upon learning of my non-religious beliefs. These weren’t the common Christians who only occasionally attended church and generally kept their religion to themselves, but the more hardcore fundie types who were consumed with everything Jesus. They really were scared of me, and thought I was some sort of powerful devil secretly plotting to corrupt their spirituality. It’s mind-boggling what irrational fear can do to a person.
