How is this allowed to happen?
I know there are many people for who any criticism of Israel is seen as antisemitism, for these people, I have nothing to say.

    And lets not forget the deliberate poisoning of water supplies, mostly by “settlers.” The actions of the Israeli’s in this regard are unforgivable.

    It will appear in a no newspaper or major television network, and if it does, it will (as usual) be buried somewhere irrelevant in very small letters with an accompanying article (or two) nearby pushing a ‘Palestinians are terrorists’ story. It’s tough being black, it’s worse being a Palestinian, who doesn’t even make it to the category of human. But hey, Israel must defend itself. Three cheers for Israel.

      In all fairness, I don’t think it would be a good use of my Saturday time participating in a discussion where some believe Jesus will someday bring peace to the world. Those are people who have lost their heads.
      I agree with you that it is partly a religious problem. Your solution however is impossible. Not happening anytime soon.
      That it is a question of debate in the US election is beyond me.

    Israel can do no wrong and is always right in all it does. Why? Because it’s an ally of the U.S.A. And, since the U.S.A. can do no wrong and all it does is always right, the same simply MUST be true for its allies. See? I hope this settles the matter for you.       Thanks my friend. That was the piece of information โ„น was lacking.
      I saw some photos of what prisoners went through in an American run prison in Iraq and I swear, the US can’t be guilty of wrong doing anywhere

    As a former, Pentecostal Zionist, I am embarrassed that I was once so gung ho for Israel.

    The Israeli authorities set up young Palestinian men with crimes they didn’t commit. They black mail them by assuring them that they’ll have their freedom if they’ll rat out their own people. Nope. Instead they imprison them. So, now they’ve turned innocent men into criminals and those men have turned on their own. The Israeli authorities now dominate their families even more than they had before and their own community now hates their families for turning on them. I don’t know what’s worse for the poor guys, being locked up in prison or facing the revenge of fellow Palestinians once they’re out of jail.

    Not only does religion turn a group of people against another group, it does all it can to cause division within a group.

    This article makes me absolutely sick. It reminds me of demented President Johnson and his pro Israel stance. I wish Americans would wake up and REALLY look at how much we give to Israel on a regular basis. We give the most foreign aid to them by far! We finance their millitary as well.

    I wish Christians would wake up and ask themselves “why should I continue to serve a god who plays favorites?”

      Religion has hardly been a power for good. It divides wherever it appears.
      I find the US continued bankrolling of Israel not different from the French bankrolling corrupt and dictatorial governments in West and central Africa

        Hey Noel,

        I’m facing a few more issues in my health right now. (Honestly, I’ve been reading blogs to help distract me.) There’s nothing life threatening, just procedures that I’m having done that may affect my life negatively or positively depending upon how my body responds to them.

        I’ve missed you all a great deal!

        Yeah, the moment I defend Palestinians in any way I’m told how naive I am. People think that I believe that they can do no wrong, that’s not true btw. However, according to those same people, Israel is spotless, even when she bombs, murders and leaves another people group in poverty. Whatever! I just shake my head and realize that there’s nothing else for me to say to such Zionists.

            Exactly, Noel. I don’t condone anyone hurting, killing, nor taking away the livelihood of an innocent person. Unfortunately, I don’t think anything will change over there for, like anywhere else, citizens play into the division stirred up by the government, religion and the media. People in leadership are more interested in dividing and conquering, and sensationalism to make a buck for themselves. It’s so hard to know who to believe, even when someone is to simply report the facts, they don’t.

            And the US still chooses to focus on standardized testing over studying various religions and cultures, reading books, science experiments and creativity. Due to studying and filling out practice tests for standardized tests, my fifth grade son has to alternate between social studies and science every few weeks. The students don’t have enough time to take both classes on a regular basis! My husband and I also found out that the Gideons International still pass out Bibles to fifth graders every year during school hours inside the school building. Yes, they did the same when I was that age at my school in northwest Florida, but that was in the early 1980s. That same school also had a serious sex ed day and had all the kids do a fluoride rinse once or twice during the school year. I guarantee you that my kids’school will never do either one of those things. All of their students recite the Pledge of Allegiance and have a moment of silence every morning.

            You said it before, public education is designed for kids to memorize what they’re told, creative thought isn’t welcomed. I know it still has a lot to do with religion. I just constantly hear Pink Floyd in my head every time I think about it. “We don’t need no education.”

    I do have something to say to Israel:

    The Jewish people have been brutally mistreated for centuries, primarily in Europe. Along with the genocide of Native Americans during the colonial period, the subsequent enslavement of West Africans in the New World, and the atrocities committed by Imperial Japan in China, The Holocaust was humankind’s worst such incident.

    Now, oh Israel, look to yourselves in the mistreatment of Palestine. Two wrongs never make a right.

    I remember during the 6 day war of 1967 I was very much pro Israel – small nation against much larger nations.

    But over the years I have come to have come to the view that while both sides are guilty of crimes against humanity, Israel is by far the worst offender, and is the one who has the power to right the situation. That it chooses not to do so is a crime in my view.
