Advice to Katlick apologists


Don’t debate atheists, convert them with love and prayer.

I don’t know whether we should have a battle for minds or for souls. If I am to convert anyone, it would be to look at the world with a common sense approach, an approach that allows them to question if donkeys talk, if men eat fish or fish eat men, and whether dead people roam about.

    One day all the ink will dry n we wont have to argue. We will keep what we know or we think to know to ourselves. We don’t have to argue for god or for atheism. Our convictions don’t change when we don’t express them.

    No one has the right to convert anyone. To think you do, means you think of yourself as better than others which is why the world is in the state it is. Just let people be whoever and whatever they want without passing judgement.

      I have no business converting anyone and I said that in my post. What judgement did I pass on my post? Well it is ridiculous to believe snakes once talked or that people used fish for transport.

      Letting people be whatever they want is not necessarily always a fair thing to suggest, because what if someone wants to be a murderer, a pedophile, a cruel dictator. So I’m not simply going to let somebody be whatever they want to be especially, if in my judgement, who they are harms other people. That doesn’t mean I judge them as evil or malicious, perhaps there is a psychological or genetic reason for who they are, but harm is harm and we should be opposed to people who commit such actions. Protecting the rights of others also doesn’t mean I think I’m better than anyone, it means simply that I have empathy and I will never apologize for that.

      hmmm, so I shouldn’t try to convert aka change the minds of people who hate people darker in skin than they are? Who hate women? Who hate people of other religions than their own? Who want to control every human or kill them if they don’t obey?

      I *am* better than people who think such garbage and not standing against such garbage is exactly why the world is as it is. I will be one of the strong men who allow people like you sleep at night. People who don’t want any one judged seem most interested in making sure that they aren’t judged.

    A few great lines from this article.
    “he commits the “fallacy” of philosophy” – Um what???? Especially since very soon after the articles says: “Religion provides us with a philosophical framework…” Apparently religion has also committed the “fallacy” of philosophy”.
    Later the statement: “God is inherently immeasurable, at least in Catholic belief. As a result, any scientific pronouncement on God is inherently ridiculous.” You see within my belief system I have given God the attribute of being immeasurable, therefore it is, and thus science is wrong to ask for proof.
    I can create many such beings myself and give it the immeasurable status. Done! Phew…take a hike science…you’re ridiculous!!
    “However, the atheist despises faith, for outside of measuring brain activity, faith cannot be easily quantified.” Just because something can’t easily be quantified doesn’t mean that it can’t be quantified or won’t be quantified. Brain activity, hormone levels, physiological changes…meh…that’s not measurement.
    Sorry I know I’m preaching to the choir here but I had to get it out. I was just going to make a comment on the article, but I noticed that all the author’s replies to comments are “I have my evidence for my faith, but I cannot provide you with the evidence you seek”. Even though nobody is asking him for evidence of God, they are actually asking him some good questions about how well he even understands the concepts of God, and that if his philosophy is correct than why isn’t Allah or any other religion also just as correct. lol

      These people have trained well. To avoid answering any questions about god, they have made god immeasurable.
      To make god just, they have a god standard where everything god says is good and does is just.
      He has faith he has the correct faith. That’s it

    I agree with the idea that they should just pray instead of trying to convert us. I also think they should pray instead of interfering in reproductive health, pray instead of covering up for pedophile priests, pray instead of asking their membership for money. If their prayers are all that frikkin’ powerful, then that should be enough to fix everything, right?
