      • I’m OK. Still searching for the ever hard-to-find freewill, or a decent, consistent, definition thereof. How’ve you been?

I have been well. A little busy at work.
I am still open to a consistent definition of freewill. Once I get, I will share with you

          • Please do. The absolute, utter predictability of arguments for, and even against, freewill, have taught me, without question, that freewill simply does not exist. We’re not even “free” to have original or less predictable arguments on this subject, unless you count some of the more incoherent, psychotic one’s I’ve read. No will can be had for less than .25 cents. That’s a fact, Jack! 🙂

Let’s start a franchise. I will run the African and Asian markets. You take care of Europe and American markets. The middle east will be shared between us.

Every time I read a freewill proponent, I look for their definition but never find one. And asked to give one, they never give a straight answer

                  • Very true. It’s a hamster wheel with words spinning the wheel rather than a hamster. I’ve more respect for the religious folks who say our will is free because our souls are separate from “us”, and….etc..etc. I don’t agree with them, but at least it IS a solid answer. I forget the gentleman’s name who comments on your site who says we have freewill even though it isn’t free from deterministic factors. He’s a nice bloke, but his definition of freewill is a bunch of word salad that simply makes no sense and has no definitive definition of freewill anywhere in it. Thinking we have freewill does not mean we do. As a matter of fact, that people will think we have freewill is as predictable as the sun rising in the east each day-it’s determined by antecedents over which we have absolutely no control.

  2. Jerry is referring to the same article/research I posted on your last free will post where Adam Bear explains the findings.
