I agree too. Oh, I only use my AR-15 assault rifle for quail hunting. What other reason would one own such a weapon for? My country is insane. Completely. Totally. Insane.

I thought it is for self defense ๐
Totally insane is an understatement

Quail attack me daily. Without my AR-15, I’d have been eaten by quail years ago.

Hahah. Stop making me laugh. Self defense from quails!

I have to agree with this guy too. I hope this isn’t just lip service. We get a lot of that.

I, unfortunately, don’t get enough of it these days. Perhaps because I’m a lot uglier than when I was younger, if ya get my drift. ๐

Lol! I got a good chuckle out of that.
From what I hear they prefer the young pretty boys. The older model altar boys get shuffled off to the choir.

Ah, I see. I was referring to lip service from the ladies. Yeah, the priests do like ’em young, though, eh?

Oh… Yeah I can understand that point of view all too well!
I thought you were just being silly, and the conversation is about a priest, so I kinda went in that direction. Far too easy to slighly misinterpret with no facial expressions, body language, or adequate emoticons to work with…

alas the priest forgets his god requires the hate toward LGBT folks. It disgusts when they want to pretend that the hate isn’t right there in their holy book, right beside the nonsense that they find so acceptable.

at least in his defense he admits his religion is culpable. If only he would tell pope cuddles

clubschadenfreude you are correct he is cherry picking his holy book as much as the bigot does. The only thing in his defense is that he is cherry picking in a humane way.
But if he really thought through his position he would see it as evidence that his holy book is of human not divine origin.
I was challenged on one website by a Muslim to consider the Koran, given its ‘scientific insight proved it was divine’. I responded to the Muslim apologist, that any religion that led to a female rape victim being charged with adultery and then killed whilst the male perpetrator escaped justice could not be divinely inspired. Never heard from the guy again.

the priest is definitely more humane but I find he is not cherry picking in a humane way; he is cherry picking in a convenient way.

I reckon the priest is cherry picking, Mak. Sorry. We see too much of this hand-waving. It comes across as a way of acknowledging religion’s part but not recognising it will continue until we get rid of religion.
Maybe he fears to be unemployed? ”Unemployed Priest” can’t look good on anyone’s CV.

Unless he has other skills, an unemployed priest is useless to himself and the society.
Cherry picking is what he must do or else he will not be a priest anymore.
