This habit of putting N’s in front of consonants is very disturbing! Who do I write to to make it stop???

Lovely. The first image, with the red soil, looks a lot like the Southern region of the U.S.

It may not be like this for long. The rate of deforestation is higher than reforestation

It does seem that you need some rain.

I think we need a lot of rain. Do you know any rainy gods that do not require human sacrifice?

Sorry, none, but if you find one, send him our way.

I suspect the best rain god should be a woman. Taking care of her children. Giving them life. Like mother earth

The trick seem to be to invent one. However, I don’t know if that helps. The best idea that comes to my mind is planting lots of trees (instead of cutting them down) but that requires politicians, who also require human sacrifice.

Inventing a god requires the least raw materials.
Talking of trees, while I was cycling around the place, I saw trees being cleared but none planted.

I guess where you see the tea plantations today there once was forest. Deforestation leads to draught. And if it is raining, the water is not retained and you may get flooding further down.

You are right on both counts.
Trees are being cut down to create space for farms and homes. Soon there will be landslides and erosion. People will not know what hit them

Always love to see photos of your country. I do like the look of the tea plantations, but not good that it mucks with the environment. Why are people so inconsiderate, selfish, greedy, stupid, and … and …?

Hard to understand why greed has trumped common sense. It is beyond me.

Reminds me of idiots who at the turn of the Millennium thought the world was coming to an end and spent all they had only to arrive on the other side foolish and broke. It is the same thing.

That’s very true mak, and it’s sad to see in motion, though I also love it when you show us your home and the surrounding beauty that is left at present. And a rare sighting of the man himself too! Have a good day sir.

Have a good day esme.
It’s important the good people who honour us with their visits and comments not think they are dealing with a bot.
Hopefully, some not daft people will plant trees to protect the dam

I hope so too mak, and you’ve too much humanity in your words to ever be suspected of ‘botness’ (troposphere word)

You can spend the fruits of greed (you know, buy mansions, several sport cars, put gold inlays throughout your bathroom, influence politicians, etc.) but common sense? Meh.

Usually I cynically ask to what end?
Even in a mansion with 100 rooms, one can only be in one room at a time.

I agree … but it’s the fame, the adulation, the ability to control others! In any case, as is obvious, common sense is a commodity only few possess and even fewer aspire after.
