Why be angry? Why not just point out the moral superiority of your pisition and its benefits? Can you see the middle ground? Colonialism brought order, but at the cost of human rights. Liberty requires human that own their choices, many, at the end of the day want a benevolent master rather than independence. I saw it when I was in the Soviet Union as yhe Coup of 1991 happened. Many feared what they would lose by becoming free agents of their lives. All the best!
