Below are thoughts of an idle mind somewhere in the stratosphere. Not to be taken seriously 😎
In 2100, all governments around the world have decriminalized prostitution and it is trading in the stock market.
The business section of the news then goes
Market capitalisation at the NYSE is several million dollars. Sex closed the market at $100 pushed up by demand from the North.
In North Korea, sex IPO is scheduled to go live next week. The market has been opened to international investors.
The dollar is under pressure from demand by traders but is expected to stabilise with decrease in sales from the sex sector.
Insurance market is bouncy but expected to stabilise with sex sales.
Sex was the first thing to be monetised

Or should I say shall sex sector sex stocks supply sturdy sexation sexsticks since surpluses surpass surging sales?

There will be no surpluses. It’s a controlled market

Don’t laugh, this idea isn’t all that farfetched. Prostitution has been legal in Nevada for many decades where it is strictly regulated, much safer, and has reduced the incidence of street crime. Although I wouldn’t want to see any troubled person resort to prostitution just to survive, it’s hard for me to see any difference with some other occupations.
For example, a masseuse performs a personal bodily service for a fee. Such services are often quite sensuous even though it is generally illegal to involve sexual acts. A prostitute performs a similar service which does include sexual acts. What’s the difference? Sex. But, sex between consenting adults is generally legal. It is generally illegal only when sex between consenting adults is performed in exchange for compensation. If consenting adults have sex and one gives a monetary or other gift to the other, isn’t that technically illegal?

Prostitution in Nevada is only legal in rural areas, and according to Wikipedia and other sources, 90% of the prostitution conducted in the state is illegal.
Contrast that to Aotearoa New Zealand where prostitution has been completely decriminalized since 2003. A clear explanation of the NZ model can be found at http://www.nzpc.org.nz/The-New-Zealand-Model.
In my view, the NZ model is the better one by far.

Yes, the NZ model looks better. Those rural areas in Nevada which license brothels are counties adjacent to the urban areas of Las Vegas and Reno. Most of the customers are tourists, truckers, and some local clientele. Without these legal brothels, prostitution in Nevada would be 100% illegal.
As a former casino bartender in that state, I can tell you that a big chunk of the illegal prostitution is performed by attractive well-dressed women who pursue “high-rollers” – typically older rich men who like to spend money.

I think decriminalization is the way to go.

And yet fifteen years after Aotearoa New Zealand decriminalised prostitution, no other country has done the same. Which begs the question Why?

In many places, morality is tied up to sex, I think, as a remnant of the puritan movement. They know prostitution goes on but wouldn’t want to offend the sensibilities of the religious folk

I think in many places, sex and morality are intertwined.
This idea occurred to me following the manufacturing of sex robots and dolls that seems to be on high gear.

Exactly. What’s hypocritical though, is the way moralists exclude their own sexual behavior from condemnation.

The most interesting thing is most of them get caught in very not pleasant circumstances. I have just read of a pastor caught with a naked man in his car. He says it was a counselling situation

“….but, sex between consenting adults is generally legal.” I overheard a woman say today that, “The fact someone would have sex with Trump, paid for or otherwise, is a god damn shame.” 😀

Market update:
Sex trading reached climactic highs following the release of a new federal stimulous package, temporarily halting the sharp downward trend in domestic partnerships. While most were excited by the increased mating activity, many wondered how long it would last and voiced concerns the Fed’s move would raise interest rates, driving us deeper into the hole than intended.
“It’s too hard to make a firm commitment right now, so flexible short-term positions are probably your best bet,” said Wedbush’s Jenny Taylia. “But over the long haul, a buy-and-hold strategy with lots of diversification will maximize your security and increase the chances of coming out on top.”
