I was on a horse, riding to heaven using my pinhole camera to take the photos as we waited for coordinates from Peter. You know he can be slow

Like everyone else, I’m fascinated by the geologic fault lines. Growing up in California almost on top of the San Andreas Fault, it’s very hard to discern unless seen from above. At ground level, evidence of fault creep can be seen in displaced fence lines, broken pavement and such; but, the fault structure itself is usually unrecognizable.

I live in Solano County, California north of the core Bay Area. There is one road (Rockville Road) which cuts right across a relatively minor fault, the Green Valley Fault. It is very visible from a car (or bicycle) in that you can see the rock patterns.

A portion of road was washed way along this fault line. Maybe that explains why it was of interest to yours truly.
