a question about the Koran

the regular readers of this spot know our position on Jesus H. Christ.

they also know what we think of the bible and by extension religious books.

Muslims think of their religion as the only true™ one.

and of the Koran as coming straight from the gods.

the Koran in many places makes references to H. Christ.

can we not safely conclude it is just a mishmash of stories just as the other religious books, or worse?

  1. There’s only one thing you need to know about the Quran, my friend. It is the correct word of God, right from his mouth. All other religious books are wrong. If you think otherwise, you’re wrong. There is empirical evidence right smack dab in the Quran to prove this. “This book is not to be doubted.” Now, why in f**k’s name would that be written there if it weren’t true? Do you honestly think a normal human would, or even COULD, make up something like that and write it down? HA!!! If you do, you’re more lost than I thought. 🙂

It has always baffled me that as the Qu’ran was supposed to have been passed on to Mo via the Angel Gabriel how on earth did Gabe somehow manage to forget to tell Mo that Jesus was the god, Yahweh?

  4. I’ve always considered ancient texts – be they religious or not – to be a mishmash of stories from mythology, misperception, and embellishment which evolve over time as the details are continually reinterpreted and re-translated. The only ancient texts which can be seen today as historically accurate are record-keeping documents, and even those require corroboration with other sources.

All of the three major mythological belief systems, judaism, christianity and islamic are from the same neighborhood. They all share common elements. I think it was something in the water they all drank. Naked hugs!
