Yes, I think life does have meaning: you live and then you die. So, essentially, we’re all living with the proverbial “noose around our neck.”
Seriously, I believe it is what we DO in our lifetime that gives life a purpose. It affects and effects our quality of life.

If you’re asking whether life has any intrinsic meaning, I would probably say no. Life happened, and it is still happening. Life survives and as part of that survival imperative, the noose is simply going to be less likely an option. The fact that we have the ability to both give life a great deal of meaning, but also take the noose option at a higher frequency than any other life on this planet is interesting. On an intuitive level I don’t think suicide ever feels right and for good reason. If life behaved differently, it simply wouldn’t last long.
I’ve always been fond of the saying from The Shawshank Redemption: “It all boils down to a simply choice really. Get busy living, or get busy dying”. If choosing the former then there is lots of meaning to be found out there. 🙂

I’ve seen too many of both. Every paramedic seems to gravitate to certain types of calls. Mine was hangings. It’s a horrible thing to see. Hang talk still gives me a little ptsd.
