Yes, I think life does have meaning: you live and then you die. So, essentially, we’re all living with the proverbial “noose around our neck.”
Seriously, I believe it is what we DO in our lifetime that gives life a purpose. It affects and effects our quality of life.

To a person who wants to kill themselves, telling them life has meaning would be a stretch, no?
But it does seem like we do live a noose around our necks

Was just gonna say that. Babes. Beautiful babes make life nice. Oh, and my dog. Lots of joy in my life with her.

I tend to side with those who say we’re all here to be happy. The trouble is getting shot of those who want to make everyone else’s life a misery whatever way they can. Wishing you good health and happiness, Mak.

If you’re asking whether life has any intrinsic meaning, I would probably say no. Life happened, and it is still happening. Life survives and as part of that survival imperative, the noose is simply going to be less likely an option. The fact that we have the ability to both give life a great deal of meaning, but also take the noose option at a higher frequency than any other life on this planet is interesting. On an intuitive level I don’t think suicide ever feels right and for good reason. If life behaved differently, it simply wouldn’t last long.
I’ve always been fond of the saying from The Shawshank Redemption: “It all boils down to a simply choice really. Get busy living, or get busy dying”. If choosing the former then there is lots of meaning to be found out there. ๐

Get busy living.
I am of the opinion that we have convinced ourselves that life has meaning to make it bearable.

I don’t disagree with that… But given that the nature of life is to bear it, it’s hardly surprising we would find ways to make it easier to bear.

Some people claim to find more fulfillment with a belt around their neck, not sure about a noose. I don’t think I like your choices here.

well, would you rather prefer brains splattered on a wall to noose around the neck

I’ve seen too many of both. Every paramedic seems to gravitate to certain types of calls. Mine was hangings. It’s a horrible thing to see. Hang talk still gives me a little ptsd.

To answer your question you would have to know what comes next(after the belt), and I don’t think anyone knows what that is. You might be reincarnated as a tapeworm or something much worse(or much better).

To the tapeworm, I guess it’s having the best life. So coming back as a tapeworm may not be so bad
