“western” here can look simply like a euphemism for white.
Yep, that seems to be the thing people are circling when they talk about “western” civilisation.

Yeah. So why do people skirt around it?

Racism is quite *shy* outside racist groups. Most of this, I’d say, isn’t even overtly racist, not consciously. Think of the films and books and stories in general fed to the white-colonial world. The best non-whites came out of those was the ‘noble savage.’ Then you had supposed “scientific racism” of the 1800’s (although it started back at the beginning Enlightenment). Here people actually defined ‘beauty’ as European qualities. The well is deep, and the water’s pretty foul.
Never asked, but I am interested. Do you think Black Panther was a positive turn?

I don’t think so. I wrote about it here & more than that, I think it still plays to the hollywood tropes about Africa and the world in general

A very interesting perspective and I agree with it. A shame that the multitude of others aren’t even aware that this philosophy exists! Naked hugs! 🙂

you know, i was having a discussion with a professional philosopher the other day and we agreed one of the problems in making our philosophy available is publishers. Africans don’t have access to the big publishing houses and the moneys these control

That’s a serious issue not just in Africa but in the entire world these days! Those who have “too much” resent any beneficial efforts to those who “don’t have enough!” Time for a financial revolution? Naked hugs!
