Kit mikayi

Rock formations in Kisumu county. The guide told us they get the name from the man who first settled here, Ngeche, since he preferred the quiet of the rocks to the company of the first wife. So the rocks became the first wife.

This is amazing, Mak. And the first I’ve learned of it.

Exceptional photography, my Kenyan brother! Truly magnificent and very awesome. It looks to be a very thrilling adventure. Naked hugs! 🙂

The thing that always amazes me about pictures like this (the gigantic-ness of the rocks) is how “Man” thinks he’s so great, so smart, so in control … yet he’s DWARFED to his “real” size by nature’s magnificence.

  5. Always interesting formations, always different.

I’d have preferred the company of the rocks to my first wife too. I have to settle for the river here.

Great pics man, with a great story.

Does the first missus explain why you became a philosopher :)?
Socrates is reported to have said “by all means marry, if you get a good wife you will be happy if a bad one, you will become a philosopher.”

  7. shelldigger says:

Oh crap, and I generally don’t think much of philosophers 😉

Which puts me in a terrible qundary…
