How to live one’s life

There are three treatises according to the man without qualities

  1. Keeping silent when one has nothing to say
  2. Doing only the necessary when one has nothing special to do
  3. Remaining indifferent unless one has that ineffable sense of spreading one’s arms wide, borne aloft on a wave of creation.

  1. Here are my 3 rules for how to live one’s life: 1.) If you fart in a crowded elevator, blame the person on your left. 2.) Do not grab a woman by the p*ssy unless you are first famous. 3.) When committing treason against your country, or any other crime for that matter, always blame the liberals, the SJW’s and the WOKE movement. $Amen$

Some timely advice, Mak. I’m also just now reading Robert Musil – his short stories. An original mind and perspective on the world.

Hello makagutu. I understood 1 and 2 sort of, but 3 confused the heck out of me. Hugs

The third treatise refers to our moral life. He argued we should cut down to the Minimum the moral expenditure that accompanies all our actions to satisfy ourselves with being moral only in those exceptional cases where it really counts.

A failure at all three! Heck….the entire blogging community would disappear in a waft of ineffableness if it followed these rules!

I like doing nothing when thereโ€™s nothing to do. I donโ€™t mind busting ass when I have to, but I can hammock with the best of them.

Doing nothing when there’s nothing to do??? When does that ever happen? I am always at least 2 days behind on everything … the last time there was nothing to do was 58 years ago when I was 10 years old … I remember it well! My trouble is always too much to do.
