It must seem strange to find so many empty spaces out there. (I would imagine ordinarily there are people all OVER the place…)

The park was quite busy. I kept overtaking walkers in the park. Other places are empty of life. Or there are so few people it is strange

The nearest bigger city to me, Sacramento, CA, has a frankly magnificent park system along one of the major rivers, the American River. It was hopping with cyclists and walkers and joggers yesterday. Largely keeping apart, unlike the miscreant youts from last weekend who were playing shirtless basketball in another local park. Some cities have closed most of their playgrounds and parks. It is really hard to close down an empty country road, of course. So I am good.
If the rain stops. Why is it raining in APRIL? gRRRRRRR.

Here, we have long rains between March and May. And I can’t go to that park when it rains because it gets really muddy.

Why is the water so “white” at those falls? Related to rainy weather? Or something else?

Yes, I live with much of that around me, & it’s good to have air that doesn’t smell of fuels or whatever else. Hopefully our fire season doesn’t screw it up.

we don’t have many parks here but at least i can get lost in the tea farms that are not so far from where i live

Unfortunately, our lockdown means no visit to parks – there’s none none within a few hundred metres of home 😦

This park is 18km from where I live and currently our curfew is only from 7pm to 5am. During the day we are encouraged to stay at home but there is no restriction on movement

Apart from essential workers, the rest of us are confined to our neighbourhoods and our “household bubbles”, except when accessing essential services which are supermarkets, pharmacies and health centres.

I noticed that new cases are not many that side of the ocean. Maybe the lockdown is actually helping

Numbers are still increasing, but in a linear fashion instead of doubling every 3 or 4 days like elsewhere. Most infections have occurred in clusters. There’s now 12 known clusters. There’s also talk of being able to eradicate COVID-19 if we keep to the current level 4 alert.

Most of our cases have been for people already in quarantined. So if conditions remain the same, the numbers may not get to 1000

Im jonesing to get out and go for a ride in the country. Or walk a creek or a riverbank. Weather looks good today I may get out, clouds moving in and 20% chance of showers tonight.
Where I plan to go there ought not be anyone around I might run into… Every time I go for a creek/river hike I always scout out a decent walking stick. Ill make sure it’s a six footer just in case.
Oh, the morels are sprouting, one of my boys has picked two batches already (within a short hike from the house), if you haven’t had fried morels you haven’t lived yet.

We happen to live in a very “walkable” neighborhood. In fact, there are people out everyday (except when it’s raining) doing their thing. Unfortunately, I pulled a muscle or some such thing in one of my legs and have been somewhat incapacitated. Fortunately, it’s getting better by the day so I hope to get out and join the others … from a distance, of course. 🙂
Love being on the computer and frequenting blogs, but when that’s pretty much the only activity that’s “allowed,” it does get old. Fast.

I managed to get out today and piddle. Took a boat to the lake for a test run, it failed to go into forward gear and this was after I adjusted the linkage. It seemed to be in gear at home. But that can fool you. I did figure out the problem (I hope) and have the part on the way.
I needed that on more than one front. It do get old being stuck at home. I could clean house I suppose but that gets old just keeping up lol.

30 years as a diver and I never really learned to swim either 😉 Wearing a good wet suit you are quite buoyant, it’s much like wearing a life jacket. The few times I had to bail out, that is drop my weight belt and make my way to the surface with no air, I was able to flounder to the boat, because of the wet suit. There was two times I had to come up from 40+ feet down. Both of those were close calls.
But if you don’t want to go diving we won’t have to worry about that. I still have my gear though… 🙂 Soon as I get that outboard fixed I’m going, part will be here Fri and it’s like a 10 minute fix. I can rig up for 2.
I don’t put noobs in deep water, and on a sunny day you can see down to 10-15ft. There are lots of shallow bars to explore. 😉
If that’s not down your alley, I can do boat rides too 🙂 🙂 I finally got my New York city gal of a wife hooked on going. First ride in the boat I brought back to life a couple of years ago, I snuck a sideways glance to see how she was doing, she was loving it.

I don’t think I have seen a morel this side of the Indian Ocean.
Just make a circle with a 6 ft radius and get into it. That way you are certain no one is coming within 6ft
