but the mighty profit Owuor of the lord begged her majesty not to end the world. I didn’t know this and probably you too didn’t know it.
How thousands of people take this charlatan seriously is still beyond me. It seems his followers believe every nonsense that comes off his mouth.
In other non related news, I think to ask a prospective employee to present a clearance form from financial institutions, corruption and cover up commission, certificate of good conduct from the CID and such is discriminatory and uncalled for and probably unjust.
Working from home is difficult. By the end of it, my landlord may need to enlarge the door because all i do is eat, then sit on the couch and find something boring to watch. I am not even reading as much as i would like to. On a positive note, I think by the time we resume work, I will be well rested.

Keep safe friends and thank the gods that the almighty profit stopped the world from ending.
could the world as we know it have ended, and we are just vapors now? Sort of like the man that died but kept on running until his brain caught up with his body…

Maybe the world really ended on 12th and we are living in a simulation

My old Baptist friend Bill said the world was going to end at Obama. I asked him what happened and he gave prayer the credit. But he was also praying for the return of Jesus. Makes ya go hmm.

Yeah. I am…confused. Given that they should be willing, no EAGER, to leave this vale of tears for an eternity singing vapid hymns to the Glory of Gawd, why would they not pray for the world TO END?
Plus, how can an Omniscient Being that exists outside of time and has a Mighty Plan down to the microscopic level change its mind?

That’s the part I don’t get. Why would the profit not want to die or the world to end if he is certain of heaven?

Religious people have been wishing for the world to end for eons. I remember JZ wrote about it a while back.

They cannot have their belief without unbelief, right without wrong, dark without light.
Something is more entertaining than nothing, so I say leave it on. Would the last mas standing turn off the light?

I guess we should all be sending sizable chunks of money to this prophet for saving us then.
Not!
My question is, how can you do absolutely nothing then state you have saved the world from ending? Hell anyone can do that. It does not make you special. Quite the opposite.
Since the topic of the day is things that aren’t, If doorways looked more like ( ) instead of | | you’d be fine Mak!

we must start sending money to the profit of the lawd. Man, he can beg god not to destroy the world and god listens. Reminds me of a profit who bargained with god if only a specific number of righteous men could be found in the city, would he then spare the city. In this profit’s case, he just had a man to man talk with god, no offers.

I’m tired of these guys making promises they can’t keep. 😛

They should choose a struggle. Maybe make vague promises that are not easy to validate

“’But any prophet who falsely claims to speak in my name or who speaks in the name of another god must die.’ But you may wonder, ‘How will we know whether or not a prophecy is from the Lord?’ If the prophet speaks in the Lord’s name but his prediction does not happen or come true, you will know that the Lord did not give that message. That prophet has spoken without my authority and need not be feared.” Deuteronomy 18:20-22
The prophet must die. The Bible says it. They believe it. That settles it.

It’s…odd…that they always forget the more…amusing…Bible versus, isn’t it?
On another “things that should not be” note: I am told that the checks funded by money borrowed from the Heathen Chinese (our COIVID $1,000 stimulus checks) will be prominently emblazoned with the name of our Glorious Lord and Master, Donald Trump. Praise the Lord! I know one of the first things I will buy with this check is a TRUMP face mask! And a big Trump 2020 flag!

I saw the cheques will delay because it will take to have the name of the glorious leader on them. I think you are on course to giving North Korea competition.

Well, I’m pretty certain that I won’t be getting anything. Nonetheless, it looks like Mr. Trump has just given many financially-strapped voters 1200 hundred additional reasons to vote for him in November.

You are right about votes. I think he has a big headstart

Have to say that since my asthma has calmed down and my leg is 80%+ recovered, I am getting in MORE bicycle riding. But my landlady gets bored … and she…cooks. (On the other hand, not hitting full scale restaurant meals as often). Have been afraid to weigh myself. I do see too many people cruising by me on their bikes, so I have no delusions about my racing fitness!

Maybe you should just try step on that weighing machine. It might not say one person at a time 🙂
Glad you are getting better. I will be on the bike tomorrow

On a related but unrelated note regarding an aseitic deity (am I spelling it right, Mr. John Z?) creating the world, thus arguably contradicting His own completion and perfection, the Jewish mystics addressed this issue in GREAT LENGTH. Discovered during a random perambulation down the paths of Wikipedia, KABALLAH is just AMAZING. Castles, no Burj Al Dubhais of amazing fantastical speculation on the nature of their deity. Multilayered heavens and hells and manifestations and essences, with specific angels and demons assigned to each. Simply awe inspiring what the human mind can dream up…or be inspired by. Christian theology seems so trite and simplistic when compared to Kabbalah!
Plus, it makes amazing topics (and band names) for black metal musicians who are tired of trite Satan worship!

Christian theology is trite and simplistic when compared to African religion or even eastern mysticism. It’s concern with individual salvation/ damnation doesn’t make it a great religion

The world, or I, may end or go on. All I can say is the Miner’s Ravine Bicycle Path in Roseville, CA is lined with fields of orange poppies and purple lupines. As well as fresh green grass and new leaves on the deciduous oak trees! Sometimes one needs to disconnect from the hysteria for a bit.
