Sometimes I know it makes life easy. You search for an answer to a question and Google remembers so your next search for the same is much easier but must it show up everywhere. The other day I was researching on cement plaster failure and now the mails I get from quora always has something on cement plaster or something on fitness & weight loss.
In other news, covid spread & morbidity seems to have increased in my hood and Jayden has imposed tougher measures indefinitely: no bars, no dining in, no team sports, few attendees at funerals and weddings among others. Yours truly will continue running and cycling. These I am sure are not covered in the directives.
All this is just to say I don’t have something serious to tell you good people.

Random thoughts 
When I do a google search, I use a private browsing window. That way, google doesn’t remember it.

I’ve been using it for a very long time. I have it set as my preferred browser. The results are just as good and at least you know you’re not “being recorded.”

It doesnt matter which search engine I use I search in a pivare window. It’s easier than attempting to delete all the cookies set by the various search engines.

Once in a while I search using incognito mode but recently saw that Google still follows people in that mode

Perhaps some browsers allow some cookies to survive private/incognito mode? As Chrome is a Google product, that might be one explanation. The only other way a search engine could track you is by IP address but as there can be multiple users using multiple devices on a single IP address and users will have different IP addresses as they move around, it’s not a reliable means of tracking an individuals

Google keeps tabs on everything you do.
If you want privacy try another search engine. Popular alternatives are: DuckDuckGo, Ecosia, Qwant, SearhEncrypt, SearX, StartPage, and Swisscows.
Also, keep in mind that in addition to you IP address, your activities are also being tracked via unique browser and OS fingerprints, so it’s good practice to assign different activities to different browsers, i.e. use:
– Chrome in the Google ecosystem (Google search, Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive/Docs, etc.)
– Edge in the Microsoft ecosystem apps (Bing, Hotmail, MS Outlook, MS Office, OneDrive, etc.)
– Safari for Apple stuff (iCloud, Tunes, etc.)
– Brave for social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Telegram, TikTok, WordPress, etc.)
– other browsers (Firefox, Opera, Pale Moon, Vivaldi, Colibri, etc.) for regular browsing activities (banking, work-related email, etc.) using one of the alternative search engines.
That way the data profile collected by Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Twitter is reduced to what you are doing on their specific platform. The only caveat is that you must remain consistent to reduce cross-tracking between activities.

Re: your comments related to the shutdown — one area that I just can’t wrap my head around is when they allow bars to remain open — even at reduced capacity. What kind of “social distancing” is taking place when a person is several sheets to the wind and leaning into the person next to them to emphasize a drunken point? At least your country uses some common sense when it comes to that restriction!

I think vaccinations are ongoing here now. I am not sure it is with appointment or one just walks in and gets the jab

Here, it goes by age. It started at 90, & has gone down by 5 year increments. We had to keep an eye online to see when our age group was posted. In our case, I was allowed to register along with my husband as married couples born before 1951 could register together. We have the same time slot, & we got email confirmations.

I do not google, I do not buy anything on the net either, it does not stop those gremlins to find out what I want, need or bought, those shops are as connected as anything else to the system. Bankcards are the information ships. The alternative would be to barter iguess.

Companies like Google, Facebook actually make money from the information that they collect and sometimes this information is used in politics to polarize the masses.

My biggest problem is google and the many sites i visit that keep tracking what i do online. I left noseybook a long while back.
