Extracts from Eve’s Diary

by Mark Twain,

Anyone who has read these essays of M.T has in someway pondered over how life would have been for Adam and Eve, had they been the first personages on earth.

Where did the first lion get the meat to eat if all animals were created at the same instant? Or maybe, lions were first vegetarians, just like tigers and leopards and only started to eat meat after the fall. And it is after the fall also that all animals lost their innocence and started copulating.

Have you heard of the law of fluid precipitation? Well, Twain made it up. But imagine the first person to notice that water flows downhill.

Then think about that command of not eating fruit of some tree or else you shall die. They have no idea of what death is. They have not seen any death already. And here, Twain arrives at one of his truisms

a person can’t think when he has no material to think with.

The first pair decide the best way to find our what to die means is to eat the fruit, then they shall die, and will know what it is, and not have any more bother about it. If you believe the bible is true, we are still dying from this desire for knowledge.

It’s morning here, go ponder the rest.

a concern and a review

I like nude art.  However in the last few months I have noticed that there seems to be an aversion/ censorship of nude figures on most social media platforms. Even Playboy has indicated they will not have nudes on their pages.

What are your feelings on public nudity and its display on social and print media?

I just finished reading Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein or Modern day Prometheus. Victor’s desire for knowledge leads him to create a being who in his on eyes is monstrous.

When this being kills the William, Victor’s brother, he swears to kill it and a discussion ensues between them. The being tells Victor that in as much as it has done wrong, he has no right to kill him. On the contrary he makes Victor see that he has a responsibility to him. It is to Victor to make him happy, wretched as he maybe.

The question we must ask here is if the creator of a sentient thing has a right to destroy it?

Atheists, you can believe in God and still be an Atheist! Hahahahahahaha

Well, my friends, I really must say that the world has really gone bonkers going by what some people write on the web. Take for instance, this post about atheism. We are told

That’s right, belief in God and Atheism are not mutually exclusive. You can believe that God created the heavens and the earth, and still affirm Atheism.

Please can someone tell me the definition of atheism again! Here is a person who asserts the universe was created, class dismissed now go home, forget the requirement for providing evidence.

And please, tell me, maybe I am missing something here, how does the above position become

the only intellectually honest position to take in this age of scientific enlightenment?

Then it starts to border on the insane, or else how would someone write

This is the age of Answers in Genesis, Creation Ministries International, and The Institute for Creation Research. Let’s face it, Biblical creation is a scientific fact.

Someone please hit me on the face, I must be dreaming! Next time you are asked what is an oxymoron in an English lesson, here is one, biblical creation and scientific fact in the same sentence! And for lack of a better word, this fellow is an ignoramus, for, please tell, how would someone in this day and age belief such BS?

You can believe that God created everything as recounted in the Bible, but that after creation, God died. You can affirm a godless universe while still believing God created everything.

Who created god? Why did this particular god create anything then commit suicide? What was god doing during god time just before creation? What did god use to create the universe? And why the bible? Why not the Vedas, which are by far more poetic, more sublime than the bible, the Bhagavad gita,  or any other religious text? What is so special about the bible?

It solves all the insurmountable problems with the failed hypothesis of Evolution, and it accommodates all the facts of science.

Last I checked, it was Laplace, who said he didn’t require the god hypothesis. It has no explanatory power and means nothing. It really is sad for someone who most likely haven’t read a page of any book on evolution to call it a failed hypothesis!

I can’t go on reading this trope, I will go crazy just responding to him, so as Nietzsche says in Beyond Good and Evil

“He who fights monsters should see to it that he himself does not become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.”

I rest my case!

On a lighter note

Religions given till the end of the month to prove it

and you really can’t beat this god is bigger

and if you want to know why many times we have problems with the religious, look no further than a new life

has the definition of faith changed? What is faith?

and for those of you heathens who are suffering and need to explain it away, look no further than A warning from the dungeon

I couldn’t make sense of what this fellow was saying from off the top of his head, may one of you could help with that: Is atheism really the right option for scientists

and those yet to be saved, what are you waiting for? It is free will all over again! Redemption is a free will

Do you want to go to heaven? Then it is time to start hating like there is no tomorrow, yes, the bible recommends it! You cannot serve two masters

And finally, the reason god came down to save us from himself, so that we can learn forgiveness! Isn’t this awesome? The power of god’s forgiveness.

It is absurd to say that the human race is the object and end of creation.

Fellow sufferers, the theists want us to believe that we, human beings, are the object and end of creation. That we are created in the image of an incorporeal god who loves us but has no qualms sending us to eternal torment for not saying a few our fathers and not being generous with our earned cash to those self-proclaimed messengers of this said deity.

Many tomes have been written to discredit this idle belief. I have written several times that among the animals, we fare badly and our only redeeming feature is that we are laughing animals.

Jean Meslier says it in a more succinct way than I could. Please tell me if this is not a gem?

Man, charmed with his own merits, imagines that it is but his own kind that God proposed as the object and the end in the formation of the universe. Upon what is this so flattering opinion based? It is, we are told, upon this: that man is the only being endowed with an intelligence which enables him to know the Divine nature, and to render to it homage worthy of it. We are assured that God created the world for His own glory, and that the human race was included in His plan, in order that He might have somebody to admire and glorify Him in His works. But by these intentions has not God visibly missed His end?

1. According to you, it would always be impossible for man to know his God, and he would be kept in the most invincible ignorance of the Divine essence.
2. A being who has no equals, can not be susceptible of glory. Glory can result but from the comparison of his own excellence with that of others.
3. If God by Himself is infinitely happy and is sufficient unto Himself, why does He need the homage of His feeble creatures?
4. In spite of all His works, God is not glorified; on the contrary, all the religions of the world show Him to us as perpetually offended; their great object is to reconcile sinful, ungrateful, and rebellious man with his wrathful God.

Genesis 7

Noah’s flood

Then the Lord said to Noah, “Enter the ark, you and all your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this time how many families were in existence? All must have been Noah’s relatives You shall take with you of every clean animal by sevens, a male and his female; and of the animals that are not clean two, a male and his female;clean in what sense? I thought in the previous chapter we had two of each? also of the birds of the sky, by sevens, male and female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth. For after seven more days seven days to traverse the whole globe from the NH to SH, convince the animals to come, trap the birds and ants, you can fill in the list here you will find an idea on how long and at what cost it would have taken to capture the animals living on the planet at the time, I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights how did the sea life survive? was the rain saline in nature? were there any plants left after this many days of rain?; and I will blot out from the face of the land every living thing that I have made.” Noah did according to all that the Lord had commanded him.

Now Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of water came upon the earth. Then Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him entered the ark because of the water of the flood. Of clean animals and animals that are not clean and birds and everything that creeps on the ground, there went into the ark to Noah by twos, male and female, as God had commanded Noah. 10 It came about after the seven days, that the water of the flood came upon the earth. 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened. 12  The rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights Apart from the repetition of the same event in the six verses, I have a few thoughts; are the other humans dead already? have they just taken a leave of absence? is it remotely possible they couldn’t break the door? Would everyone be so bad in this society that only one family does the right thing?.

13 On the very same day Noah and Shem and Ham and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark, 14 they and every beast after its kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, all sorts of birds. 15 So they went into the ark to Noah, by twos of all flesh in which was the breath of life. 16 Those that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered as God had commanded him; and the Lord closed it behind him.

17 Then the flood came upon the earth for forty days, and the water increased and lifted up the ark, so that it rose above the earth. 18 The water prevailed and increased greatly upon the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water. 19 The water prevailed more and more upon the earth, so that all the high mountains everywhere under the heavens were covered. 20 The water prevailed fifteen cubits higher, and the mountains were covered. 21  All flesh that moved on the earth perished, birds and cattle and beasts and every swarming thing that swarms upon the earth, and all mankind; 22 of all that was on the dry land, all in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, died. 23 Thus He blotted out every living thing that was upon the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky, and they were blotted out from the earth; and only Noah was left, together with those that were with him in the ark. 24  The water prevailed upon the earth one hundred and fifty days. My friends have asked many questions on the verses above.Where does all the water go? They have at the last verse been in the watertight and airtight ark for 190 days; what lighting system are they using? what is the method of waste disposal they are employing? do they still have food?

Genesis Chapter 2

The scribe for chapter 2 should have read Dickens at least for the introduction. That said, today we will use the NASB for reference.

Garden of Eden

This chapter is very interesting. In chapter 1 to 3, the whole business of creation is covered and the creator God is taking his rest.

Are these scribes reading from the same page: in chapter 1, on day 3, plants have been ordered to sprout. In verse 5, he is waiting on man to come and till the land, what a lazy creator. The great guy has a campus, the garden of Eden is in the east. There are many things in this garden, tree of life[ has it been cut down?] and tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Verses 10 to 14, four rivers have been identified. The gold in Pishon is good [i didn’t think there was bad gold, but then again who I my to say otherwise?]

15 and 17, man gets his first duties, to take of the garden and a warning and the punishment for disobeying the order[why death? was he out of options? ]

18 he suddenly realizes man is lonely and promises to make amends.

19 gives man responsibility of naming all the animals[ fair enough, now I know why we have unicorns]

I just want to know if men have less number of ribs as women? God does the first operation without living stitch marks, any surgeons out there, you have an example to follow.

And finally at verse 25, there is no shame in being naked [ can I hear somebody say amen].

We are now done with where we came from, now in the next chapters we will be seeing where we are going.
