We have a few cycling events in our village. Pour encourager les autres I suppose. Serious triathlons and nice family ones. Partner just cycles in and out of town on the shopping run and I need to get back on my bike. Maybe. One day.
Cycling is underestimated. And abused by some motorists.

Yes, you should get back on your bike my friend.
Motorists see cyclists as a nuisance. Its potential in decongesting cities and navigation are thoroughly underestimated.

Cycling in Gib is crap. Best to come to Spain and cycle along the coast. Go inland for hills. Some years ago, Spain brought in a two metre law for vehicles overtaking ciclistas. There is a lot of cyclng where we live 🙂 Mostly sport, but, older people do it for transport. Why get in a car or bus, that costs money, when we can cycle for free?

Here, a car is a status symbol. We would rather sit in traffic than be seen on a bicycle! Crazy if you ask me
